Qualified Massage Therapist in Christchurch

Posted by Sam Hall at June 22. 2010

Does anyone know of a one in Christchurch that may be looking for work?

I am thinking of expanding my studio to accommodate such a person.

Can anyone recommend an institution I could ask regarding graduates who may be looking to

work for themselves?

There are so many places that do Massage courses out there which one should I approach first?

Any suggestions appreciated

Hi Sam,

I would suggest a few things you could try.  One I would do some research on some of the providers of massage courses and approach them with an understanding of what exactly it is that they provide.  This will help you decide if a graduate from that course matches your requirements.  Also get on the phone and talk to some established massage therapists and find out who they would recommend.  Finally you could also advertise on seek or in the local paper as there will likely be people out there looking for this kind of opportunity.  Make sure you ask for references and establish a good understanding of the persons experience and background.

Hope my two cents worth is of help

Henry

Hi Sam

As another suggestion, you could contact Broni at Catch Fitness.  You can see the catch fitness website with all their contact details at:  http://catchfitness.co.nz

Broni sends out a monthly newsletter for fitness professionals, and this includes a number of trainers who also work as massage therapists.  If you contact her, there may be an opportunity to advertise in her newsletter, and also to be put on the email list - she regularly sends out updates of upcoming workshops and qualifications.

I would definitely go with Henry's reccommendation of contacting local, established massage therapists.  If you email me directly (elly@nzihf.co.nz)  then I would be happy to forward your email to a couple of friends of mine who work as massage therapists and they may have suggestions for you.

Regards

Elly
